The Care Workers Charity was founded in 2009 with the objective of supporting current and former care workers with one-off crisis grants. In 2018 we awarded over £150,000 in grants to almost 400 care workers – nearly four times as many people as we helped in 2017.

We know this changes lives – every month the people we help tell us how a grant has enabled them to face the future with renewed hope, and our efforts were recognised at the 2018 Charity Times Awards where we won ‘Change Project of the Year’.

Our mission is to promote and advance care worker wellbeing, and over the coming years we intend to build on our recent achievements by developing a range of services to support care workers before crisis strikes.

Grants Manager (maternity cover)

The Grants Manager fulfils a vital role, ensuring our grants reach those in greatest need and deliver the maximum possible impact. Experience in a grant giving role is highly desirable, though not essential.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, highly organised and passionate about helping individuals experiencing financial crisis. They will also be able to display excellent judgment and a strong sense of empathy with care workers.

Partnership and Events Manager

The Partnership and Events Manager is responsible for acquiring, retaining and developing the charity’s corporate partners. The role is also responsible for creating, and delivering a varied portfolio of charity own events and cultivating third party events in support of the charity.

The role has responsibility for delivering a successful programme of fundraising and engagement activities, ensuring that they meet budgeted income and expenditure targets.
